Ceilings have been around for thousands of years. They have originally been made from stones and bricks. Over time they have developed different ways of being constructed and may even be constructed today using a variety of materials including wood, plaster, tiles and corrugated iron. Some people will say that there is no difference in the actual structure that is created when using different materials.

This could not be further from the truth. A ceiling is simply an overhanging exterior surface that usually covers the top of a wall. Usually it is not considered a structural part of the building, however, an unfinished surface concealing either the bottom of the house or the underside of a roof. The drop ceiling, which is also sometimes called a vertical wall, consists of multiple metal pieces that drop from the ceiling and straight along the floor. Cantilever ceiling panels are used in conjunction with these drop ceiling types to create more space and more design options for the homeowner. For example, while cantilever and drop ceilings are generally considered to be the most visually appealing, they also have the tendency to stick out like a sore thumb in any given room or area. This is one of the reasons why they are typically installed in smaller rooms or spaces. The good news is that because these designs can be made to fit into any space, they are generally the least expensive option. They are also usually one of the best solutions available for homeowners looking to make over their homes and offices without a big financial outlay.
